Finally, after much fighting with the Medical Community in this "one horse town," the doctors here have finally listened to me.
I was at my Internal Specialist's office today and he confirmed that I do have in fact, Type 2 Diabetes. I have been prescribed Metformin 500 mg. to be taken twice daily.
I go back to see the Specialist in four weeks at which time, he is going to refer me to the Diabetes Clinic in the next town over - which is the best in the Region. I will also at that time, be prescribed the meter to check my blood sugar. Right now, I have just been counting my carbs on my own and watching what I have been eating to keep it under control. The Diabetic doctor will also be able to treat me for all of my medical issues there.
It was also finally decided that my blood pressure has been out of control for some time and they have finally put me on something that will control that. I am now taking Ramipril 5 mg once a day.
They finally also got me in for an E.K.G. So, I figure within the next couple of days, I will be getting a phone call telling me that they are putting me back on my Inderal - which is what I have been asking for since my last heart attack. Aspirin just doesn't do the job - especially when I am allergic to Aspirin.
